[09/11/2010] Bring Along a Voice Recorder

If you are planning a trip, where you intend to take a great number of photos, then apart from packing your camera and all its accessories, you might want to bring along your voice recorder as well. Almost all of the latest digital cameras come with a built-in microphone that would let you record audio when shooting videos or add audio notes to your photos, but in case you are using an older camera or a DSLR camera that does not have in-built microphone, then bringing a voice recorder will come in handy.

Another great reason to have a recorder is to be able to record a higher quality sound – let’s face it, even the best HD compact cameras might not be able to match the sound quality of a top of the shelf digital recorder. The digital recorders typically offer hundreds of hours of recording time, basic editing functions, and can use noise reduction and other technologies that ensure better audio. When used in conjunction with a digital camera, they would allow you to have more storage space for your photos and videos too as all audio files will be saved on the digital recorder’s own memory.

The digital recorders are also small and lightweight, so tagging one along does not require too much effort either and they also allow the users to organize the audio files in different folders, which could help these users to separate the audio files in categories that match their shots. If you go on holiday and take photos of historic buildings and sites, then you can quickly add an audio note to each photo that you take and thus save information that you are likely to forget otherwise.
