[06/11/2010] More Megapixels Means Greater Cropping Ability
When you consider choosing a new digital camera, its resolution would probably be one of the decisive factors as more megapixels usually mean higher quality images. Well, this is not necessarily true as some manufacturers advertise the resolution achieved by interpolation, while other cameras might have high resolution, but poorer quality lens and image sensor, which would result in low-quality photos. However, if you want images that you want to be able to print, then choosing a digital camera with at least 5 Megapixels resolution is definitely advisable. When you take photos, you might need to edit them before transforming them into prints – even if you do not have some top of the range image software, there are plenty of good free editors that would allow you to crop out unwanted elements. However, in order to be able to do that, you would need your original image to be of higher quality and that is something that cameras with 2-3 Megapixels will not be able to give you.
